We are over the moon about this first son by our Rebecca Gina sow Rosie! A great litter all around, but little man Archie steals the show. He’s the first for belly rubs and has a wonderfully square body and short snout. He’s available as long as we don’t change our mind and keep him—so you’d better hustle because he’s getting better and better every day!

Bring Mom for a hands-on living wreath workshop, as well as a walking tour of our 47 acre sustainable farm (including visiting with goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, and more!). As we walk we’ll observe ways that native flora and fauna interact with agriculture to create balanced ecosystems.
YOU’LL MAKE: A 12” living wreath with an assortment of baby succulent plants.
In addition to a fun, relaxing afternoon on the farm, participants will receive:

Up to two adults and up to four kids will collaborate on making the ultimate live wreath for a special Mom.
Workshops will take place outside and/or in our barn, depending on the weather. Participants should dress warmly with sturdy footwear appropriate for farm and muddy conditions. The tour will cover approximately 1 mile of walking.

Join us for a hands-on bat box building workshop, as well as a walking tour of our 47 acre regenerative farm (including visiting with goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, and more!). As we walk we’ll talk about bats’ and other native flora and fauna interact with agriculture to enrich depleted soil and create balanced ecosystems.
YOU’LL MAKE:
A 17 x 31” four-chamber nursery bat house, based on a design approved by Bat Conservation International . I’ll pre-measure and cut the components and you show how to assemble them. Then we’ll paint the houses in high contrast colors most appealing to our sight-challenged bat buddies. (Just one of many cool bat factoids you’ll learn!)
In addition to a fun, relaxing afternoon on the farm you will receive:
Exterior grade materials so your work lasts for years
Printed instructions—including hanging suggestions
Refreshments (locally sourced when possible!)

A birdhouse designed to attract and safely host a family of nesting brown-headed nuthatches. I’ll pre-measure and cut the wooden components and you show how to assemble them. Then we’ll stain and seal your house using a cool wood glue resist process.

Nuthatch informational handout including instructions on how to register your huthatch house with the Audubon Society (if you want) to help them track the species’ progress.
Instructions on how to place your birdhouse and plans on how make more houses on your own.

As we walk we’ll talk about fungi’s crucial role in soil rebuilding and observe ways that native flora and fauna interact with agriculture to enrich depleted soil and create balanced ecosystems.
YOU’LL MAKE:
Two mushroom logs to take home! Participants will have a choice between shiitake, oyster, or lion’s mane mushrooms. I’ll have pre-cut logs and show you how to drill, inoculate, and seal them. With just a little care, your logs will grow pounds of delicious mushrooms for 4-6 years, at which point they will break down and become gorgeous organic compost!
In addition to a fun, relaxing afternoon on the farm you will receive:
Two inoculated hardwood logs (or get a couple tickets and get three logs!)

Family tickets are good for two adults and up to four children. Families will receive an informational packet, kune color sheets + crayons, and a beverage for each attendee. (Important: parents, for your childrens’ safety please use judgement about whether they are at a developmental stage where they will safe around livestock. This includes listening and stopping when told. We want all children to experience the joys of farm life, but the experiences must be safe for both them and our animals.)

Then we’ll paint the houses a birdbird’s favorite color— blue! Specifically, shades of blue color-matched from bluebird feathers collected on our farm! Why? Scientists have learned that birds are drawn to things that are the same color as they are. Neat right? Just one of many cool things we’ll talk about during the workshop!
